@DD.DANNER shares his stance on the "B" Word
"When I hear women referring to themselves as a “bad b___” or allowing a male to refer to them as his “b___” it makes me wonder are the REALLY ok with being referred to as such.Mainstream media would have us believe it’s ok, but do we truly feel it’s ok?"
How does hearing the B word make you feel?
Hearing that word makes me feel indifferent, we all know it can be used in various contexts however I personally don’t believe in using the word. I don’t necessarily view individuals in a different way should they choose to use it, I just don’t personally believe in using the word.
Where do you hear the B word the most?
In my personal experience, I hear that word used the most in music. Various genres use the word in different settings, but music is definitely the place where I hear the word used the most.
Is it worse hearing the B word from a man or a woman?
Words have effect no matter who uses them and I believe gender is a small part of the equation in regards to which one inflicts the most damage when using the B word.
How have you been affected by the words usage?
Again, speaking from personal experience, I haven’t directly been affected but I do feel saddened when hearing it being used (specifically towards women) and it makes me think to what degree can a word just be a bad word and not try to contort it in a way that makes it acceptable?
